Rhys lay on her belly in the snow. Between her and the huddle of puppies was a tree. She'd waited days to meet the new guys. Days. It may as well have been an eternity. The day her daddy and everybody came back with puppies in tow she'd begged to play with the little ones they carried but she'd been told to give them time to settle in and not bother them. Well, now they'd had time to settle in so it was time to play. She peeked around the tree as an explosive sneeze sounded from the puppy huddle. Their mom had left a little while ago - something Rhys had been hoping and waiting for since she didn't want to get tattled on. The last thing she wanted was for her dad to find out she'd disobeyed. Even if it didn't hurt any she didn't like being in trouble. Clearly their mom was going to be gone awhile so now was the time to act. Rhys slithered around the tree and then got to her paws and trotted towards the trio. The girl knew no stranger; everyone was a friend until proven otherwise so she felt no trepidation over approaching the group. They were, in Rhys' mind, just playmates she'd never met before."Hi!" she chirped, "Do you guys like to play? I'm Rhys and I know lots of games." |
