Xephyris had taken his time leaving Myriad territory, debating within his mind whether or not he should go to this festival. He wasn't exactly the most sociable of wolves - sure, he could get along when he needed to, but he far preferred solitude and keeping busy. Would it be worth his while to go celebrate with a bunch of wolves he didn't know? The conflict within his mind had caused him to pace, and while he did so, he wondered if he might come across one of his pack mates who might help him come to a decision. As it were, he found himself alone, and it seemed that many of the pack had already departed to this festival. Should he stay behind go to guard their borders? Sighing, he figured no one was going to invade their land in the dead of winter, and if they did... well, their wolves would return to destroy any invaders.

At last he came to a decision. He would go, if only to support his own pack mates, and to see if there were any activities that would allow him to test himself against other wolves. So he began the long journey, his steady paws carrying him swiftly as he went. It felt much, much longer traveled alone. But he kept at it, muscular limbs never faltering. Time passed, the sun shifting drastically as he passed by many different territories. The angle of the sun shifted, as well as the weather. Whereas the south was mild, hardly winter at all, the cold became more apparent and snow even began to fall. It had been a long time since he'd visited the north, and he wasn't sure he was quite adjusted to the cold yet. Yet he traveled on, until he had finally come to the polar sound.

At last he came upon the gathering, where many wolves had pooled together already, surrounding a large wolfess that became quite familiar the closer he got. His silver eyes drifted over Avalon, remembering the woman from Sonticus, many seasons ago. He hadn't seen her since that time, but he was very interested to see her in charge of this entire gathering. How things changed. As he allowed his eyes to further wander, he recognized many faces from Fiori, including Leo and several of his family members. Then, of course, he picked out the wolves most familiar to him, with whom he shared his home. Most interesting of all, he spotted Jaelle. He would go to her instantly, coming to her side and bumping her shoulder with his own, grinning as he seated himself next to her. It seemed many wolves were glancing her way, curious about her bells and bangles. Xephyris was glad to be sitting next to her. "Greetings, Jaelle," he rumbled, glancing her up and down, "I'm glad I decided to come, after all. And I know more faces here than I thought I would." It would be interesting to see what else was to come, and he was actually quite curious for the festivities to begin.
