Bi-colored eyes gazed into the whole at the side of a mountain. The she-wolf they belonged to contemplated whether it was worth the risk to explore the inner sanctum. Tried to recall if bats slumbered through the winter or not. Maybe there weren't any within, but she could not be entirely sure.
Yet as the snow began to fall once more from the skies and the wind picked up momentum she worried a blizzard might rise and cover the land in leg lengths of snow before the sun had even reached its peak in the skies overhead. The sun itself barely visible between the roiling low heavy dark clouds that turned the blue skies gray.
A harsh wind ruffled her fur. With a slight shiver, thanking her the skies themselves that she had a good warm fur pelt she dashed into the crevice despite her misgivings.
