That was the truth. Someone lost, in danger, or hurt, Serene could never just leave them behind without helping. In Aerndis case, leaving her was the best way she could help, that way they could both search for her family. The fire woman then asked if Serene lived around here, and she was about to decline before she realized, yes, she actually did live here now. It was a fact she would have to get use to now.
