My Heart Lied

Things had been quiet, and she wasn't quite sure what to do with herself. She was old, and she knew it. Time wasn't going to wait for her, so when she saw Dragon day in and day out worrying about the star-clad woman he had fallen for, she felt for him. She wished she had that chance at love again, but truth be told she didn't think it would ever come. Who would love her in her old age? Sighing, she emerged from the trees to see Dragon walking along the beach on his own. Tanaraq landed between her shoulder blades as she watched him, a slight frown on her face. "He seems troubled, Avalon. Maybe you should go and talk to him." She continued to watch him for a moment longer, and decided perhaps that was the best idea.
The sand shifted beneath her paws as she moved towards him, uttering a low bark to let him know of her approach. "Dragon, how are you dear?" She nuzzled his shoulder as she fell in step beside him. She knew he had a lot of troubles on his mind, as did she.
