So outside of himself, Lyulf was lost within the view before his eyes. Usually quite the guarded wolf, it was odd to see him so withdrawn from his position and completely drawn into another realm. As the day drew longer still, the colours on the water shifted and grew with it, gradually fading into the gentle blues that it was known so well for. It wasn't something that he could tear his green eyes from, nor did he really wish to. The shore just rested below the cliff, but the sound hardly reached Lyulf way up here. He could almost imagine the noised that the rolling tides would make, soothing himself with them. Green eyes slid closed as he drew in a deep breath, tasting the hint of salt water on the air. What a treasure this place was, giving him some minor comfort that he had left his homeland. If it had not been for the secrets that he had dug up, it would have been a lot harder to trek down the mountain for the last time. But that was then, and Lyulf knew that he needed to start trying to live in the now.
His mauve ears flickered at the crunch of foliage behind him, his eyes shooting open wide as he quickly rose to his paws. Already his hackles stood up, caught off guard by the approach of another. So drawn within the lands around him, he had forgotten that there was still a chance that a stranger would come to enjoy the view that the cliff had to offer. His tongue ran over his suddenly dry lips, ears clinging back to his skull as he waited for the unknown wolf to approach him. Lyulf's muscles were tense throughout his whole body, knowing damn well that his only escape would be through the stranger, given the steep drop that was at his backside. Stone cold were his features, nose raised ever so slightly as a tremor shot down his spine. This would be the first wolf of these lands that he would meet, nearly shaking with nervous energy. There was no telling just how these creatures were, nor what this individual was like. The smaller black and white male popped up over the ridge, causing Lyulf's lips to twitch as he held himself back from growling. Without hesitation, the other spoke, introducing himself without even batting an eye. It threw Ly off guard, not expecting to be offered something so quick. The male was still hesitant though, knowing that his once soft heart had betrayed him before. Not really knowing what to say at first, Lyulf remained silent as he just stared at the other, slowly blinking his emerald eyes. "Uh... He stuttered, backing up half a step in his uncertainty. He didn't want to just give away his name to this odd creature, not so quickly into this introduction. Remembering that this Leonce had said something about this area being nice, he nodded his head a few times. "T'is, not something I see often." He offered, a slower tang to his words. it was like he was chewing each letter before he spoke them, his distrust for the unknown slowing everything down a few paces. Lyulf's pale tipped tail curled around him, an awkward silence lapping between them. He couldn't help but clear his throat, not immune to the lack of conversation flow, knowing that it was his fault. After being on his own for awhile, and not knowing who or what to trust anymore, he just... didn't know what else to do.
