It was her fault.

It was all her fault.

Priscilla lay in her den that night, tossing and turning, as nightmares involving what she imagined Naeva’s form to look like after death confronted her. She hadn’t been able to bring herself to look upon her sister’s body. Hadn’t been back to her den… or to her grave. Guilt continued to eat at her and ‘cilla feared that it was going to consume her.

She couldn’t rest while she was awake, tears often marking her cheeks as she mourned for her sibling…

...and at night she barely slept, the nightmares she’d had the past two nights shaking her so much that she woke up in a cold sweat, crying more than before.

This nightmare was no different, Priscilla crying out as her sister died before her in her dreams.

Her fault.

It was her fault.

Priscilla sat bolt upright with widened eyes. Tears already shown within them… and she whimpered softly as she looked around the den. She was alone… no sign of her sister’s corpse to be found.

“It should have been me…” Priscilla said aloud as she placed her head on her paws. “I should have been there for her… I should have…” She squeezed her eyes closed only to see the memory of Naeva’s face smiling behind them.

“I’m so sorry…”
