He was a bit late to the party, but when he heard the howls both foreign and from his pack, Ares had set off at mach speed to reach the others. He wasn't familiar with the kind of call that was, but he did recognise the call for backup. Intruders were infiltrating Legion, and he'd be damned if he let them all fight on their own while he sat back on his ass. For once, he didn't quite have the stupid grin he usually wore, but more of a grim look as he barreled across the land. The last couple of seasons he had started to feel more protective over his family, over their home. He had seen how worried his dad had been, and Ares shared that worry. Lyra still hadn't returned, and he feared the worst for her. Cat claws or not, even tree climbing wouldn't have been able to save her if she had gotten caught up in those areas.

As he neared the groups, he spotted his dad and the others already fighting, so he wasted no time in finding one of his own. Without stopping, Ares zeroed in on a pretty looking girl. She was smaller, than him, delicate looking even. Maybe he could scare her into thinking twice and running away.

Eyes narrowed and his paws drummed the ground as he neared his target from her left side, the saber-fanged male aiming to bowl her clean over and completely knock her off her feet. Maybe he'd get lucky and catch her by surprise if all of her attention was on the others. Jaws opened up then and regardless of whether or not his first maneuver was successful, he sought to grab the base of her skull, intending to use his weight to pin her beneath him.
