Not So Lazy Afternoon

LĂșta's wanderings had lead her northward. She figured that the best time to explore the north would be during the summer before the northern wind started sweeping down, bringing winter with it. As the summer was cooler than usual, or so she'd been told by other loners, she expected the fall to be abnormally cold as well as the winter afterwards. It would take awhile for the weather to settle back into usual patterns since the volcanic eruption.
She maneuvered her way through the Redwood Forests, marveling at the size and beauty of the trees here. Of all the places she'd traveled so far in the north she had to say that this one was her favorite so far. Her ears twitched at the sound of something large moving nearby.
