The warlord glanced at his love, then down at his mouthful or burden, and grinned. “Well, I didn’t break any pillows, start any wars, or steal any slaves. So, that's a good start, right?” he teased, placing the rabbit down at her feet, before tucking a few flower stems behind her ear, and kissing her forehead just below them.

“Actually, I did want to have a chat, if you have a moment” he said, taking a seat bride her, and gently leaning his taller frame against hers.
“It’s about Aslatiel and Indigo” He began, his voice growing a little sad, a little strained. “I fear my beliefs have chased them away from us. My skin crawls at the idea, it is… a perversion of nature. But they are our children, and I love them. I want your full and honest opinion. Should I lessen the ban against it? Make it a ban against children instead of a ban against love? Perhaps… if they truly desired, they could find a donor or surrogate.” his face pulled in an expression of unease. He suggested it only because of how badly he loved and missed his children.
