Down To The Dream Below

Hazel found herself in yet another treacherous land. At least this time she had a guide.  Barnabas had finally found her. This time he took the shape of a primate and, if she were being honest, it was a welcome change. This one stood tail enough for Hazel to hold his tail which made traveling easier. Although anything was an improvement over her traveling alone. If possible she wished to avoid doing that ever again. Should it happen of course she would survive, but it had been a challenge - one she had no desire to repeat.

With a splash Hazel was suddenly past her wrist in a frozen puddle and fighting for balance. Her tail flagged behind her as she struggled to right herself. Barnabas, who had been walking in front of her and should have warned her, nearly had his tail bitten off on accident. "My apologies, my lady!" The monkey flailed his hands worriedly and tried to help her climb free of the puddle. What would have been easy for someone else was a struggle when one couldn't see the edge. It took several tries and the guiding hands of Barnabas to get Hazel planted solidly on the ground again. By the time they were done she was cold and wet, and the pair had made a ton of noise, but what could they do?
