Inu Island
Kuroki was quick to make himself scarce, scampering away in an attempt to hide from the lecture he deserved. The Shogun watched him scurry off into the palace and made no attempt to stop him, he would speak with the boy later. If he wished to seek comfort from his Mother for now then Hattori would allow it. Instead he turned to his daughter, all wildfire and despair radiating from her form. She was upset and even Hattori could understand why she felt that way, reality had hit his children hard today. In a way he'd hoped to shield them, to let them live softer lives than he had, to feel the warm bloom of blood spilling across his own fur at such a young age had been...troubling. To say the least. He imagined it was a beast they were both struggling with for now, in their own ways. But Kitsune sought to take it out on him, the feeling of helplessness and rage was not Hattori's burden to bare and thus he would not allow it. Not today and not ever.
There were other ways to go about venting and she needed to remember her manners lest he had to remind her. But he was not so quick to get out the iron paw, he would hear what she had to say first and attempt to speak it out with her. She was a smart girl, he trusted her and she'd never let him down before. But even then whether he cared to articulate it loud and clear for all to see he was glad they were well. He would kill a hundred more cats if that was what it took to keep them safe. Forever and always Hattori would do what he must.
"Speak your mind." He rumbled, his steel eyes set unblinking on her form. She stood out stark and clear amongst the white of the snow, the blood hard to see on her coat.
