Alastor - seasonal

Alastor wasn't the kind of wolf to like having someone fuss over him. His entire life had been built on surviving by tribulation and strife. Nobody had helped him or cared for him; all he had attained he had gotten it through sheer willpower, strength, and shed blood. That's why it was so hard for him to just give in and let Manea take care of him like she was doing. He didn't want to appear weak to his new mate or like he was incapable of taking care of himself. As they made their way back into the forest and she nodded for him to take shelter in a nearby cave, he whined softly in protest. He wanted to help her and show he wasn't just a stupid useless reckless idiot. The look she gave him told him it was not up for discussion however, and Alastor slunk into the cave like a scolded puppy.
He sat in the cave trying his best not to shiver as he listened to the wind outside. While it wounded his pride to feel crippled and sidelined, he knew why Manea was being so protective over him. He hadn't taken his vows to her lightly; he knew how important he was in her life and her future plans now. Changing his entire mindset for her though wasn't going to be easy, but it was something he was going to have to do somehow. Shaking his coat a few times to try and rid it of as much water as he could, he saw Manea building a fire at the mouth of the cave, beckoning him over to join her. Black eyes gazed at the beautiful purple fae bathed in orange light from the fire. Alastor's breathing stopped for a beat. He couldn't get over how beautiful she was... Manea had intoxicated him like a narcotic and he never wanted to come down from this high.
Grinning to her, Alastor stepped over to join her by the fire. Not wanting to get her damp or cold from his fur, he lay down around the fire without touching her, though it pained him to do so. He wanted to wrap her up in his embrace, hold her perfect form against his body and bask in the warmth of her and the fire and their love. But for now, that would have to wait. "I think you m-mean your silly brute," he teased back, his teeth no longer chattering as bad, but his body still giving little shivers while it tried to generate any warmth it could to chase the chill from his bones. Peering over at Manea from around the fire, he gave his mate an apologetic smile, a rare feature for the dark brute to wear. "I'm s-sorry, my love. I should have been more c-c-careful. I was only thinking about g-getting that w-wolf for you." He tried to give his best big sad puppy dog eyes to her, making himself look as pitiful as possible to garner her forgiveness.
