Would this encounter be just as bumpy? She expected him to make efforts to intimidate her at any moment. He was built for it, with his thick coat, and heavy paws. The light blue of his eyes softened it, just a little. His voice was also gentle, almost encouraging, though she was weary of any immediate kindness. Who was she to him, after all?

Her mouth parted, caught between her inclination to give a lie, and the realisation that she hadn’t thought up a prior name. The delay was likely suspicious, but nothing for it now. “Sera” she allowed, giving up just a portion of it. “Just… lost in my thoughts, I suppose” she said awkwardly.
