It wasn't going to be easy

Zee had not forgotten her promise to keep him safe, nor the battering his body had taken over the last day. Sirius needed rest, and Zee could not sleep with her mind wandering between her children and then Deathbelle. "I'll stay over here." She offered softly. "So you don't need to worry about your dreams." It was a decent enough excuse to keep distance between her and the man that she - in this moment - both loved and hated. She lowered her head to her paws and let her eyes slide shut, merely so if he'd look over he could assume she too was sleeping. It would keep the stubborn giant from remaining awake out of obligation. It was far from her intention that she'd truly rest, though it wasn't long before she'd unwillingly slipped into a dream.
