With every breath
The yearling girl started when a voice called out from behind her and now her wounds were clean she had no reason to continue to freeze her tail off. She removed herself from the water, keeping a respectful distance away before she shook herself off. Not like she needed to be pissing off someone who already had her on the back foot after all.
Her head dipped respectfully, mismatched eyes giving the man a sidelong look, but never letting her eyes linger on him long enough to be outright staring. It wasn’t as if there wasn’t plenty else to keep her eyes busy, the glowing water that seemed to be settling now she had removed herself from it, the frozen streaks in the sky overhead. "If I could have avoided it, I wouldn’t have even gone that deep!" She responded with a lacklustre smile, attempting to sound chipper but falling utterly flat as a cold wind whipped down the beach and straight into her bones. Now she was out in the open, the gash in her shoulder and the slashes across her muzzle would be evident, the angry red raised edges giving away that they would certainly scar now, even if she kept the infection under control.
"I’m really sorry, am I trespassing?"She angled her body to move away if he was here to shoo her along. She didn’t mean or want to step on anyone’s toes.
