Normal Birds N Bees [The Talk]

Spring would be coming soon, and with it, the second year of her and Red’s children. They were all growing into themselves, settling into their strengths, finding their weaknesses and, hopefully, finding ways to get around or improve those weaknesses.

She’d picked a day where she was certain all five yearlings were nearby to hear her call, and when she was ready – and somewhat better rested after a night of sleeping herbs – she settled in the widest part of the ravine, just outside the cave mouth, tipping her muzzle back and howling for her sons and daughters. The call wasn’t an optional tone, and she expected them to all be there soon.

She could already hear Ardyn and Coran chatting as they came from the main chamber and moved to sit before her, and so her ears shifted and swiveled to search for her daughters as she waited patiently with a faint smile, mostly for the benefit of the boys and girls. Inside she was a turmoil, wondering if Spring would bring yet more bizarre, worrying events.
