Halo hadn't been the most successful yet when it came to finding plants that would make good dyes in blue or purple. She didn't want to bother anyone within the Armada with her questions-- they were warriors, they had more important things to be doing. No, the tenderhearted girl would need to find something on her own. Was her pursuit trivial? Maybe. Still, it helped her keep things organized. Color coding was the easiest way to make sure that all of the pups' records were kept separate and labeled. Of the three primary colors, she had red figured out already. Yellow and blue would be next, and Halo figured blue would probably be the most difficult.

Though the tenderhearted creature would have preferred to use a plant based dye (something she could put in the ground and grow more of), maybe crushed up shells of mollusks would produce the right color? Halo was fairly sure she'd seen some in the ocean shallows when she'd come in. Sedna's mention of sharks still hung at the back of her mind, though. Going into the sea was too dangerous if there were such fierce predators. Still, there were the deltas near the Mangrove, those should be safer.

It was the farthest out she'd been since joining the Armada. Halo's raccoon friend was the last creature that she'd encountered with any trace of the disease, and she was hoping that things were starting to look up. It was morning when she set out, and mid morning by the time she arrived at the Kamui Delta. With careful paws, the girl approached the water. She could feel how the ground gave way beneath her feet, the mud a bit more sticky than she'd anticipated. No matter, Halo would simply take a bath before bed. Her gaze was keen as she began to dig in the shallows, watching the sand come up murky. It was brackish, and she was careful not to get it in her mouth. There had to be something under here somewhere.
