Boil and Bubble

Lukina thought for a moment at Jasper's question. "That is honestly a good question." She hadn't really considered it much before. "I think for some of them it does. Like it's not as strong and bitter as chewing the straight plant. But really the main reason you boil it is to pull the healing properties of the plants into the water. It's easier to get patients to drink a decoction than eat a whole plant." She knew some wolves in her homeland would be mortified at being asked to eat a plant like a prey animal. She thought it rather silly but some wolves were just set in their ways. Lukina peeked over at the bowls near the fire. There was steam starting to rise from them but no real bubbles yet. "This part always seems to take foreeevvveeerrrr."
