Who's Laughing Now?

Scylla had managed to get herself away from Fenmyre, sight unseen. It was easy to make the adults forget that she existed and she used that to her advantage. Once across the water, the small girl hightailed it to the cove. She'd gone there a few times, hoping to catch sight of Birna again. The cat was interesting and new and Scylla didn't think she'd try to eat her or anything.

As she rounded a curve in the rock, Scylla was delighted to see that Birna actually was there. She was also excited to see that there were two hyenas hemming the feline in. Oh great! Scylla knew all about hyenas since she'd killed a few with Kione. As the leopard hissed, Scylla snuck up behind one of the dog things and leaped onto its rump. She bit into its hip and gave it a kick before leaping off and skittering across the sandy landscape, trying to give Birna a little space to move into more even footing.
