What Celeste had failed to notice at first in the darkness surrounding them was the gaping jaw of the stranger. Her body tenses as his cackle rang out matching the ferocity like a crack of lightning. Could she possibly be in danger being around this male? Nervousness causes her body to tense as he comments about the positivity of being dramatic. That she couldn't deny. Being dramatic did prove to help her lead a more interesting life. Whether she was being nosy in other's business or simply having a fun day of hunting, being dramatic never failed her. When he turns his head, even more, to show off the marring scars along his face, her breath gasps. Undoubtedly, it had been an instinctual reaction. She had never seen such imperfection in her life before. How could he go on living looking like that? Words were lost in her throat as she tried to think of something to say. Sure, he was right. Her fur would probably grow back so it really wasn't anything to whine about. His scars would never heal. Swallowing down the lump that had formed in her throat, she blinks a few times. "You're not wrong," she murmurs under her breath, feeling quite frozen in place. "Doesn't take away the fact that I look like a mole rat," her lips wrinkle in disgust. No matter the compliments she would receive, her mind told her she wasn't good enough. |
