Slowpokes Need Not Apply

The day is hot and the blazing sun has caused Keahi to go in search of water. Paws pull her out onto the sandy shoal of the riverbank, cracked pads enjoying the coolness of that the water offers. Wading further out into river, the russet wolf stops when the water reaches half way up her legs. Closing her eyes, she enjoys the way the cold water slowly turns her paws numb and she sighs contently. Flexing her toes, Keahi opens her blue eyes and blinks a few times before lowering her head to flowing water. Her tongue darts in and out of her mouth as she greedily laps up the frosty liquid only stopping once her thirst is satiated.

Licking her lips, Keahi turns to slowly make her way back to the shore. Eyes follow the twisting shore noticing how it craves a nice pathway in the canyon. Hmm. This would be a great place to race someone.
