Slowpokes Need Not Apply

Kione was done with this dry ground and sky that offered no rain in sight.  The weather was wonderfully warm and it was the perfect time to enjoy a bit of water and fun.  Kione had run to the lip of the canyon and threw himself down it in one half-thought leap.  The rocks shifted and skittered under his weight.  The painted wolf’s quick feet moved sometimes at his direction to keep in control and at other points, the sliding rocks chose where he would go.  It was quite thrilling at the speed of descent and the challenge of not losing his balance.  The prize was quickly growing closer which was the water at the bottom.

Ground was closing in and Kione wanted to leap from the side to the middle of the water but gravity stated it wasn’t done forcing him down the side of the cliff.  Kione let out a shrill happy chirpy bark at the rush.  The moment his hind feet touched firmer ground Kione leaped again but this time throwing himself in the water, rolling onto his back, neck arched up so his head was still out of the water, his belly was mostly above the water also but once his back was done with its soaking the belly would come next.

Kione’s head twisted about sideways at an angle as he spotted the wolf he’d met just the other day, “hello again Luv.  Come to get a bit of water as well, eh?”
