She wanted a race huh? Kione felt the water running over his coat for a moment longer before standing up straight. Water slid down his short slick coat.  His mouth opened in a toothy grin.  “Race huh?” Well, it had to be apparent enough that he liked running as Kione imagined the way she saw him get to the water.

“Sounds like fun,” Kione stepped up to the bank so the water didn’t slow down his stride and moved to be in a similar position as Keahi for a starting point.  “Alright,” Kione scooped up a small rock.  “I’ll throw this into the water, the moment it touches the water the race is on.” He waited a moment to make sure she understand the terms then threw the rock up high so it had to travel up a moment before coming down with a small splash.
As the rock hit the water Kione burst into a run.
