They had made it to Boreas but Lucette would have been lying if she had any idea of where to look for her parents from there. It didn’t help that where they were was so cold either. The landscape before them was covered in a blanket of white, the warm spring weather she hoped for not reaching this area. Could this be the fabled North of Boreas her parents told her about? Well, she was supposed to be the navigator here… she’d better find out something about this land, right?
Through the falling flurries, Lucette could make out slate gray cliffs jutting out of the ground in the distance. The area was frozen over, the peaks capped heavily with the snow, and that alone caused Luce to feel a bit uneasy. She’d never been in an avalanche and she certainly didn’t want that change but… something about the twisting trail that loomed before her had her curious. Smaller slate-gray stones dotted the pathway and, truthfully, did little to suggest if the path they were on was safe. With the snow as well it was near impossible to see where the trail they were walking could give way to some sort of drop.
So rather than climb up… Lucette paused and glanced around, taking note of a trail that seemed to wind down towards frozen foliage. The smell of clean water was in the air too, though they weren’t close enough to see its source.
Drawing in a deep breath Lucette lifted his head and green gaze to her companion. “I’m not going to lie to you,” Because it was always a good sign when she started a sentence with that. “The way up looks like it’s gonna be pretty choppy. If we try it we could fall and shatter our bones. The way down looks a bit safer but we could still also fall, maybe land in some frozen branches. Possibly impaled. Either way, we risk becoming a bloodstain.” Lucette twitched her ears thoughtfully.
“So… Do you trust me?”
