One step in the right direction

Recluse's breath caught in her throat as the sight her husband had prepared for her and despite herself, she felt her eyes begin to well up, her gaze sliding to Eraithus and giving him a smile that was one part the grief she'd yet to shirk and two parts genuine love and joy. Eraithus' reaching was met with her quickly stepping in to accept his embrace, her neck craning to wrap over his and she let lose a sigh that spoke to all the stress she'd been carrying, her comfort with her husband clear as she let herself relax in his arms. He spoke and Recluse felt herself tear up again and she sought to push her face into his fur for a moment before they broke apart. What had she done to deserve him?

Eraithus moved away, kicking at the rock and Recluse couldn't help but chuckle. ”It's lovely.” She said softly, finding her breath was escaping her. She moved over to the meal and looked up at him, gesturing for him to join her as she settled down. ”Have I told you I love you?” She asked teasingly, she tried to say it whenever she could but damn did he ever keep proving to her that he was better than she really deserved.
