Medusa

He welcomed her role as a leader, and she beamed with pride. They had barely spoken, and so far she already liked him. Whether or not he'd like her after this was up in the air, but hey, Medusa wasn't Medusa if she wasn't honest, right? Besides, it's not like she had anything to gain or lose, anyway. "Yes! Medusa agrees! Good friends and neighbors are always good!" She exclaimed. He asked about her pack and while a wiser wolf might have lied, Medusa didn't care to lie. Sure, she could bedazzle the truth a bit, but what did it matter if she did or didn't? "Medusa calls her pack Insomnia! It's where wolves like Medusa can go if they feel like they don't fit anywhere else. Medusa didn't feel like she fit in her last pack, so she made Insomnia!" Okay, so that wasn't the exact truth, but still technically the truth.

She debated with herself on whether or not she should spill the beans about having former Habari captives. That wasn't a dealbreaker, was it? Okay, maybe it was, but, everyone who was present for the challenge knew it was a thing from the get-go. Surely his wolf that had been there (Tel) had heard, right? Or maybe the gorgeous girl had left prior to Medusa saying that. She didn't know. Either way, it was common knowledge, or so she assumed. Sort of. She clicked her tongue for a moment as she made the decision. "Medusa will also say that she took Habari wolves when she won." Her voice was nonchalant. No big deal. Just a normal day in Medusa-land! But then her cougar companion chimed in, "Just to be clear, they have been given options to leave. Some have chosen to stay permanently, others ran and hid, and others have yet to make a decision or put the effort to go." She glanced at Medusa who now had a sheepish look on her face. Whoopsie! She forgot the details.

"Habari's leader held her as a slave for longer than she should have been without being given the option - or knowledge - that she could've gotten out of the rank. Medusa did more than that half-blind wretch ever did, and while we understand that some of them had nothing to do with it, Medusa had every right and reason. But as she said, they've at least been shown mercy and given options. They are not ill-treated, nor are they slaves. That's more courtesy than the pack ever showed my Charge." Umbra looked at Medusa for a moment, then back at Ardyn. While Medusa didn't often feel the need to explain herself, Umbra felt it was important to be clear about things. After all, she was certain that Habari's allies and whoever else was present at the challenge believed she had taken them as slaves with no way out and were being mistreated. Which was definitely not the case. Would Ardyn understand? Or would he chase them off?
