Since his arrival in the Hallows, Gavroche had been spending much of his time with his savior, Dusk. She let him sleep in her room with him, keeping the tiny winged boy feeling safe and cared for. Though he missed his family, Gav knew that while they figured out how to find them he didn’t need to worry about being snatched up again. Dusk's home was also super cool! It was huge, and even after being here for a little while he hadn’t seen all of it. Well, the truth was he couldn’t get to the upper parts of the castle very easily. The stairs were hard, and it took a lot of effort to go up them by himself. So he normally waited for Dusk to help him before getting to a different area. Today he was in the courtyard, checking out some of the castles, when a call went up. Gav didn’t really get the context, but he had heard his aunt make a call like that once, and his mama said it was important. So maybe whoever was calling needed to talk about something important too? Maybe Dusk would be there! That settled it, he was going to check it out.

The tiny winged boy would bound in the direction of the call, only to find disappointment when he thought he found the man who had called. There was a girl there, around Dusk’s age, but it wasn’t Dusk. Gav pouted as he walked up to the man. A tiny paw would reach out to the man’s paw to tap at it. “‘scuse me, mister!” The boy called up to him. “You made an important call, so Dusk is going to come? With the others?” It was clear the pup didn’t grasp the actual meaning of the summons, but he knew it was important and he showed up… if only because he was hoping his friend would show up too. Maybe he could learn something neat? Or if the wolves here needed help he’d help them do stuff! He was good at helping!
