Time ticked by in seconds. Slowly passing by as he observed the herd. Two young bull elks had chosen to begin fighting. A gathering of females nearby eyes observing while chewing on close berry bushes. Had he been smart he’d have chosen them instead. They were fast; however, not much of a challenge for the large male. Not like the lead Bull whose ears were high on alert. Their senses telling them that something wasn't right. But not yet making a move to flee. It was quite interesting to watch.

Khranbari lay down for a moment. Easing down to not make his location known. He needed to think. To plan out how to take down such a massive obstacle. Knowledge told him that doing so alone meant severe injuries or worse… death. Calling out would only make things worse. It would spook the herd and turn this entire situation pointless. A frustrated sigh flared his nostrils and before he could give up, another’s scent drifted t’wards him.

Liquid golden eyes casted their attention onto the black and white male. He looked far older than Khran ever was. Though the looks of him showed years of maturity and wisdom. So when the male spoke, the Valta Raita raised a brow. Then gave a simple nod in response. Perhaps with this new addition around now he could get on with the hunt. Split the food or throw him a leg or two.

"The lead male. Are you up for it?" He spoke in a low, whispering tone. It’s volume so quiet that one would have to be shoulder to shoulder to hear him. Khranbari was not taking any chances at losing his prize. He’d waited out here too long for the opportunity to have it messed up so quickly. Shuffling snatched away his attention. The herd was beginning to move. Their leader ready to find continue on their migration. If they were headed to the nearby river, both males may have an advantage.

Khranbari gave a signal for him to follow. Quietly rising onto his paws to stealthily maneuver along side of the elk. He knew he needed to get a bit closer to the front in order to launch the attack. They didn’t move far, unexpectedly. Only having walked to where the berry bushes were far more plentiful. "Are you able to take position in the front of them without getting trampled?" His plan was to scatter them. A distraction to encourage the lead male bull elk to defend his group of females and young males.

Only then… would the hunt begin.
