Llueve a mares, Ronan thought as he squinted accusingly at the sky. The weather back home-though even thinking of it as that felt too generous- was usually terrible so it wasn't as if he couldn't cope, but still. A man could hope for clear skies, better days and all that. Though, from his experience, hope never amounted to much but disappointment; same old shit, different smell.

He'd had the misfortune to pass through some real cesspits in his time, but aside from the whole looking into the depths of these woods made him feel like he was staring right into a gaping maw, it wasn't the worst. There weren't any bodies for one, none that he could see at least, though if he inhaled hard enough there was a twinge of something rotting somewhere. Eh, not his problem.

Coming to a standstill, he pressed himself against the trunk of an old oak tree, it offered him some shelter from the worst of the rain. It would have to do for now.
