the woman is surprised, which makes sense, Spider supposes. they did kind of sneak up her on, however unintentionally. anyway, they’re quickly distracted by the stranger - Ignita’s - question, head cocking as they take her in with new understanding. ah, so this would explain why she smells so much like Bas - she belongs to him. “ah…no. i can’t, um, see. through them.” their voice is an awkward stammer as they fumble for words. what does one say to a slave? they briefly remember Lefty, who’d also been a slave…but they’d willingly stepped into the role, hadn’t they? “oh, and I’m not a slave. i guess i’m kind of like…a prince?” wow, that feels weird to say; they’re not getting used to that anytime soon. “Bas is my Dad.”
the moment the words leave their mouth, they want to take it back. Ignita…probably doesn’t want to make nice with the kid of their captor - if that is what going on here. “are you…um…did you want to be a slave?” they wince, shuffling uncomfortably. bit of a dumb question, isn’t it? Spider frowns; they don’t like feel so wrong-footed, so uncertain. ordinarily they barrel into conversations and just kind of hope they don’t put their foot in their mouth.
Spider has a male raven companion named Doomsday and a female snake companion named Lady Snakeskin. Assume they are present unless stated otherwise.
