Illusion is the first of all pleasures

Illusion was nearly bouncing with excitement as her mother led her to the battlefield, her silver eyes gleaming with anticipation beneath her carefully crafted mask of innocence. She was overjoyed at beginning this training session with Widow, relishing the opportunity to showcase her skills and prove herself worthy of her mother's attention and approval.

With a smile, Illusion returned her mother's gaze, her features a mirror of Widow's own. The girl had a very polite smile plastered on her face as Widow expressed her readiness, and that smile only widened, mischief dancing in silver eyes.

“Got it!” Illusion replied with a cheery tone, her voice soft but determined. She squared her shoulders and adopted a stance she’d learned from Cadaver – her muscles tensed and ready for action. Then she shot forward, face morphing into an apathy-ridden expression, her eyes sharp and calculative. She needed to show her mother she could take care of herself, so she was forced to drop some of her act here. The girl feigned to the right, then dove for the left in an attempt to launch herself up at her massive mother’s left ear.
