He was nearly waist deep in his own trap when a stranger approached. Kat tensed at Enyo's approach, his pale yellow eyes flicking to her and then back to the task at hand several times as she spoke. She had an air of self-assurance that he found easy to trust. It seemed as if she knew her place in the world and all of the rest had better fall in line, and he supposed it was the path of least resistance to simply bend to her will. As luck seemed to have it, their intentions were aligned. "Just one of many curious souls," he said between grunts of effort, dirt flying away. She had a distinct pack smell about her but he wasn't good at discerning the different Boreas packs. Tojo kept to themselves, and while he was sure his father knew where this wolves might hail from, Kat hadn't the faintest idea. Best to be calm and collected. Neutral. Focused on the task at hand. Another voice sounded from just outside of the pit, sounding further away now that his head and ears were below ground. The two shared that core binding thread of scent that told Kat they were from the same pack. Focus, focus on the task at hand. If he allowed himself to think about anything other than digging, he would drown in the tide of his thoughts. "To be a proficient trap, it should have a wider mouth - perhaps you can dig in on the opposite side?" He called from the bottom of the pit to Battery above. "I am Hattori Katsurō, and I am pleased you have joined me on my hunt today. Many paws make light work," he directed the statement at them both, pausing to inspect the dirt walls of the pit to ensure they wouldn't cave in. Crafted a trap 2/3 |
