He fully turned to the cream woman in welcome. "I think I have been rather well as late. This nasty frost remains my biggest obstacle at the moment. Feeding a pack has its difficulties in this strange season." He remarked. He had to admit he was rather distracted when he remarked upon her wellness and briefly furrowed his brows with a shift in his ears, wondering if he had misstepped by accident. She seemed to be taking it well but he hoped she would forgive him for a social faux pas. But his brief anxiety was quelled as she came forward and bumped her head into his shoulder. It did seem like all was well with her then! Good!

He turned back to the persnickety log jam. "Well I've tested the ice and its fairly solid. I've tried shifting a log but the ice and mud have held it fast, it barely budged. What do you think?" He asked cordially. She might have some better ideas about this endeavor than he did. He would admit he had never tried to go for beaver while it was in the dam, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
