Seere tries to soothe the dying man, her poison needing just a bit of time to take hold and lull him into an endless sleep. But the gathered wolves have other ideas as a huge brute of a woman steps forward, trying to take command of the situation and dooming the man to a long plunge into the sea. Fury paints her features as she shouts, “What the fuck is wrong with you?! I gave him a poison and I’ll need to examine his body afterward to try to figure out what is going on.”

But the companions rip him from her small arms, dragging him toward the cliff as the heavy woman steps forward and grabs ahold of him. If Seere said that she didn’t feel some type of satisfaction as the worm appears flopping onto the other woman’s nose where it then burrows its way into the cruel woman’s nostril, the small healer would have been lying. There are too many bodies around him, jostling the poor creature to the edge and pushing him over without the slightest care for him.

This group was cruel lot, offering mean words at the poor man’s demise while the beast that sealed his fate suddenly becomes alarmed and takes off with those horrible companions at speeds that scream her panic out to the world. Anger burns hotly in her veins and take up residence behind her eyes and she slowly stands, not giving the others the time of day since they could not be bothered to help a stranger in distress.

Small paws take her to the edge where the poor soul had plummeted and she stops there, gazing sadly at the crashing waves below. Maybe, if she was bigger, she could have challenged that harsh woman and kept the dying man safely in her arms until the poison had helped him slip away. Tears slip from her mismatched eyes, falling down to the waves below as she offers a silent prayer to the man who had perished, hoping that he finds peace wherever he may be.

As soft as a gentle breeze, she offers, “I’m sorry” to his memory, tying to it her anguish at not being strong enough to prevent his tragic end. She stands there for a while, adding her tears to the roaring waves that claimed his worm ridden body. Only when she is ready and has quietly poured her heart out to the dead man does Seere leave the cliffside, pointedly ignoring any of the wolves that might have lingered.

May the gods damn them all.
