As he settled down alongside Epi, Gene was not ignorant of the family's dismay. Zeph wanted Epi to move and the icy glare from Enyo suggested nothing less but now was not the time for squabbling over where someone sat and who sat with them. Bickering now would make the family look weak, and was that absolutely necessary when the Patriarch was trying to stake a claim over another pack? Sure, perhaps he shouldn't have looked so cozy alongside a dog under the eyes of other Dunamis, but many of the wolves that gathered either didn't know who they were yet or didn't seem to care.
