The only light for miles and miles shined artificially

Leora succeeds in her bite to his limb, and her excitement about her success almost costs her. She feels his muscles curl, and can feel the air moving toward her as he lunges for her scruff. And so with his leg still hopefully in her mouth she drops like a fawn when their mother huffs a warning for danger nearby, her form hitting the dirt roughly as she flattens herself to avoid his teeth sinking into her flesh. But now she is in a bit of a predicament and doesn't know quite how to move from this position.

She decided on a whim to move UNDER her foe, knowing she was small enough to tuck under him and that if she kept ahold of his back leg she would not have to worry about his front legs trying to scratch at her form. Right?? She wasn't quite sure of her logic.
