How Long Until The Pain Goes Away?

Icy blue eyes became glazed, the tri-toned male lost in thought. However, soon a small voice would pull him forth into the realm of reality, a place he no longer wanted to be but endured through it nonetheless. Ears lifted, and slowly he turned towards the figure of a small child. Icy gaze fell over her, an unfamiliar in his line of vision...but to his sense of smell, there was no mistaking who she belonged to. Why? Why did fate have to keep torturing him like this? Why must the spirits keep placing him in the path of pain? Why couldn't they just give him a break...?
There was something peculiar about her that would catch his attention. She didn't seem to be looking at him, but rather at the ground. Her demeanor in fact, was strange and he wasn't sure why. Slowly, he rose up on his paws, the chilly air had started to set into him which in turn caused him slow movements. But as he moved, his limbs warmed some, and thus he made his way towards her. "Hello, young one...what are you doing out here? Where's your mother?" He inquired as gently as he could as he stopped in front of her, curiosity in his question as well as his eyes. Though he did manage to retain some of his stand offish manner as well..
Speech, Thought, You
