He was a somewhat small lupine, but despite that a beast thrived within his veins. The ivory yearling would climb the mountain to see if he had the strength for it, a youth testing his limits - and yet he would momentarily be distracted. A tall lupine would loom in the above horizon, and he would watch them a moment before following after them. Curiosity would be the first emotion he acted upon, but honestly he had always wondered - could he topple a larger opponent? Could a bring a larger lupine to their knees? Never had he the chance to try, and perhaps today would be different. His eyes would flicker with maliciousness and mischief, and his paws would swiftly carry him toward the other wolf, where he would wander after the russet figure.

Upon closing some of the distance he would realize by scent that the stranger was a female - as well as a young one. Definitely not older than he, Codeine's eyes would narrow as his lips pulled into a frown. Well that wasn't any fun - toppling a random wench without an inkling of experience would prove nothing. With a huff he would pick up the pace until he was sure that the other lupine was close enough to hear and see him clearly. "That tall and you're still not much of a wolf yet?" That would be her saving grace, and perhaps his own - following after monstrous beasts and seeing whether he would survive was far from being a basic survival instinct. "What's a girl doing all alone out here anyways?" He would taunt somewhat, although really, he had no doubts about females being as strong as their counterparts. His mother and sister were proof of that. Honestly he was somewhat curious about this girl... Surely she did not live here on her own? She smelled something of a family or pack, but between the various scents on her pelt and the snow that was constantly dancing around up north around this time it was hard to tell.
