ooc: This is before Ozz comes in to try and help Taurig.
Maija had been curled up in Taurig's form, cobalt blue over gold, until that morning. She had been safe and secure in the presence of the man who made her happy, something she was still getting used to. It was a nice change and the love that was slowly seeping from her heart through the icy cracks made her feel warm inside. With the warmth that came from Taurig's form physically, she was content.
The world of happiness that was in his den was broken into by the morning chill. Maija, still asleep, was aware of what the Ice King wanted from Taurig, and she was saddened by the idea of potentially losing him. Despite the part of her that wanted to possessively take her Re and lock him underground to keep him safe, she quieted her mind and dealt with the possible consequences of being with the banished son of Isardis. So, when he left her sleeping alone in the den that morning, he didn't leave a woman who was ignorant of the fight that would take place.
When Maija awoke, her form had lost the warmth Taurig's had provided. Winter chills swept around her through the opening of the den and she didn't hesitate to be wrapped in them. Her leaf green eyes, still blurred from sleep, were rubbed before she rose to all four paws. Strong legs stretched and carried her form towards the entrance, nose quivering at the scents that came with the winter winds. Her pack mates were around, possibly sleeping or out for an early morning hunt, but they were far from her mind. Her heart began to thump faster as she heard the snarls, barks, and growls that radiated from the fight outside of the borders. She made to turn into the den again, when a loud roar hit the air and struck a cord in her heart: Taurig.
The golden female didn't hesitate then. Her legs started off at a rocky pace, but she sped up and kept the same rhythm and speed as she raced down the mountain's side to reach the ground. Once she touched the even land, Maija's body worked harder than ever. She knew something was wrong and she didn't want to waste any time finding out what happened to Taurig. Eyes began to harden as she got closer to the fighting grounds, nose being hit by the blood and anguish that radiated from the two wolves that had previously fought. What she saw after racing through the trees made her heart completely break.
Taurig was passed out on the ground, blood seeping from almost every part of his body. As the crimson pool spread underneath the massive brute, Maija raced to his side just as Isardis was leaving. Her green eyes zoned in on the white wolf as he left and a loud growl rumbled from her lips. Teeth were bared and ears flattened as the anger for Taurig's father ran through her veins. Her fur stood on end as she openly snarled at the air, thoughts of possible neck veins popping and muscles crying out for air struggling in her jaws raced through her mind. How could such a highly acclaimed King be a childish bastard when he didn't even think things through?
She heard a soft breathing next to her and her eyes broke away from the retreating coward's form. Maija's head turned toward Taurig, clearly knocked out but alive all the same. Her green opts roved over his form, taking in the scars that would potentially be there after healing. It was when she saw the blood around his loins and then the eyes that were no longer there that she couldn't help but break down. Tears slipped from her green opts as she lowered her head to his, licking away the blood that stretched from his sockets. The tears fell into his fur as she buried her nose into his neck, silent sobs racking her lithe, golden frame. Raising her head, she padded around him and lowered herself beside his head, cradling it with her front paws beneath it. Her regal head lowered around his neck, tears still falling from her closed eyes to his cobalt fur. Ears remained flat on her head as she shook her cranium, softly saying, "Daca AS putea, as ţineţi să vă fure ?naltă şi durere ... TE iubesc ..." (If I could, I would hold you high and steal your pain...I love you...) into his fur.
Slowly, she looked up to see if anyone else would approach them. The remaining Glaciem wolves that had been there to watch the fight made her harden again. Anger seeped through her veins as she rose from the ground, tenderly lowering Taurig's head before she growled and her tail flicked from the aggravation that flared in her eyes. "Get out." She snarled, tones radiating the anger and hate that flowed from her beating heart. "You don't deserve to be on these lands. Follow your King and LEAVE."
Her eyes roved over his followers, anger seething from the golden form. She heard the approach of another -- Ozz -- who immediately began to try to patch up Taurig. Maija moved away from the Glaciem lookers and turned her attention to what the female was doing. As Ozz was struggling to get Taurig up and out of harm's way, she also had called for the rest of Tortuga to arrive. Maija's howl chorused the fading one of Ozz, vocals not even straining to call for her pack. Their King was in trouble and now...now the Queen needed their help. Tortuga was her pack and family -- it was time to see how they worked together.
