FINDING A FRIEND IN A NOT SO FRIENDLY PLACE

The male followed her directions, clearly a bit grudgingly, and gave his paw a few licks. He introduced himself as Vereux, yet another Armada. She definitely wasn't a special kid, though she was the only one of her blood to be with Isardis, the rest of her siblings were in Tortuga with Taurig. Taur, her big brother. She fought the prickle of tears in her orchid pigmented eyes, remembering her now blind biggest brother who was miles and miles away, many days travel from her. Would she ever see him again? Or any of her siblings? Probably not, and that fact, that cold, hard truth, hurt her more than anything her bigger sister could snarl at her. The ghosts of pain flashed in her scars, reminding her of why she was here with her father, and not with them. Isardis was the only one who actually wanted her now, and it made her quite sad that this was the truth. What was she without her family? Nothing. Her attention was snapped back to reality at the sound of the young man's voice, an inquiry meeting her russet audits. She smiled softly, chuckling a bit at the blunt nature of the male. "Wandering, checking out the strange world. You?" Sweet alto lyrics would reciprocate the question, brow raising quizzically as she kept her muted pink gaze on his features. Who crapped on his rabbit this morning? She asked herself in her mind, wondering why this boy was being such a grumpy gus. Sure, he had just gotten his foot stuck in a mouse burrow, but she had quickly gotten over being bitten on the nose by the now dead vole.
