Soren had an idea that his family was big, had learnt that is was larger at least than he had first thought, he had a grandmother who looked after he and his brother sometimes, and a grandfather too. He had a vague idea about the russet and ivory woman who seemed to lead the pack, she looked so much like his mother. But he was still rather ignorant of his whole heritage. Perhaps that for the best, he would have a hard enough time grasping one side of the family tree when he was older, let alone the full reaches of it.

The boy was lounging in the shade of a tree near the den, the spring was getting a bit warm, especially in the humidity of the jungle. His mother had left not that long ago to hunt or something? she had been spending more and more time with an older male Soren didn't know. He wasn't overly fond of that but was not eager to voice his disappointment. He heaved a sigh and went back to his thoughts. Though they were interrupted by the approach of yet another older male he did not know. He perked up some, though he was not scared. If there was one thing he had learned about the island, no one here seemed to had ill intentions, at least not against himself or his brother.
