a pleasant diversion

Follies and nonsense,
whims and inconsistencies
The shushing of black sand scattering told Lizzy that she was no longer alone. She turned her head, flicking gold ears in the direction of the sound. Another wolf approached, a gray and black female with unusual red eyes, with a simple greeting. Lizzy smiled politely at the female. "Hello," she said in return, the accent that marked her as British thick in her voice, particularly in comparison to the other woman, then added with a mischievous smile, "You needn't be so afraid of me, you know."
Another wolf would quickly approach, and Lizzy cocked her head to the side to regard the strangely colored female quizzically, smiling at her as well. "Certainly I am young, but no less capable for it. My intention, ma'am, was to find my elder sister who resides in these lands. However I do not seem to be alone at the moment at all," she continued impertinently. Dividing her attention between both wolves, she made a slight gesture toward herself. My name is Elizabeth Abigail Buxton, if I may be so bold as to introduce myself. Most just call me Lizzy. And yourselves?"
