Like a serpent she uncoiled from the foliage of her domain, willowy limbs heavy as detrimental thoughts and ideas writhed their way incessantly about the scaffolds of her hyperactive mind. She had once believed that her relentless drive for success and unquenchable thirst for power would lead her on the path to satisfaction; alas, even with the world at her oversized paws and the tools for success within her grasp, she was still dissatisfied and incapable--unprepared--to seize the opportunity. There was too much weight upon her shoulders that she could not support when she needed to soar; she sought relief but knew not where to find it. Mismatched gaze cast itself upon the impressive form of a woman--a deity--as she emerged from the rolling mist that encumbered the entirety of her kingdom, countenance expressionless despite the conflicting emotions that lingered beneath her rugged exterior. "What do you seek?" she inquired, yet the monotony of her speech caused the question to sound as a mere statement--vague, apathetic. Her mask never faltered--not even beneath stress. |
