Satu

Satu was restlessly walking the border of Ludicael's territory. She told herself she was patrolling the border, and it really was less boring of a task if she imagined running into a rogue, fighting them off and sending them on their way, or discovering a raiding party, warning the pack and being a hero. But if she was really honest with herself, she was walking the border because her longing for adventure, for going out and exploring, seeking out new places and people and actually doing things, was warring with her deep-seated need to do her duty, stay with her pack and do the things that needed to be done even if they weren't very interesting.

Her recent conversation with Novella, where her younger cousin had told her about meeting Iorwerth, had only increased her restlessness. Knowing her brother was here, so close, made her feel like she needed to go find him. Talk to him, get to know him better. Maybe make up for the sharp disappointment she'd felt when she had first met again as adults - a disappointment that came about through no fault of his own, she had to admit, but simply because she'd created a fantasy brother in her mind that he in no way resembled. She hadn't seen Cirala since she'd first come here, either, and honestly now that she thought about it she was pretty worried about her.

A sigh huffed from her parted jaws. Well, she could either wallow in self-pity and whine about it, or go and do - wait, what was that? The sound of pawsteps had caught her attention, and Satu's heart pounded in excitement. A loner? An emissary from another pack? An enemy? But no, the scent that reached her nose a moment later was that of Ludicael, and Satu sighed again in mild disappointment. Well, it was an unfamiliar wolf anyway, and not one of her cousins or their numerous offspring, so at least that was new. Tail wagging behind her, the exuberant young wolf bounded forward to meet the oncoming wolf. "Hi!" she greeted brightly.
