will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?
Hati's pawsteps paused near the border of the mist-shrouded forest, his nose quivering as he scented the territory markers of a pack claiming the land. His mind had calmed considerably since he had met to spar the big white and black male on the battlefield. Rage still simmered beneath the surface, but the violent outlet had cooled his emotional state to a controlled roiling, the threatening madness now a few steps removed rather than nipping at his heels. He had come across another pack's territory not long after he had come to these lands, and had chosen to blatently disregard their warning. Perhaps he had learned caution from his loss to the pack's albino leader because this time he stopped short of the territory markers and breathed in the scent signals. They spoke of a new pack, a growing pack. Dark and brooding was its presence, enticing with hints of power to come for its wolves.
The possibility of power was no lure for the big male, who had walked away from the empire his father had built, the empire he could have claimed for his own. Buthe did admit to being intrigued. What did the alpha of this pack seek with their rule, he wondered. And if he were honest, he missed the times when he and his brothers worked in perfect accord - in a hunt, in battle. The faint possibility of having that back pulled at him.
Deep in thought he paced near the border, trying to decide whether to pass it by, ignore the tug of his subconscious desires and continue the way he was, or join the pack and see what he could make of himself there. Finally he forced himself to stop his incessant back-and-forth with a growl, and raised his heavy head to the sky in a harsh call for the alpha of the pack. He could make no decisions without knowing.

the sins of our father, the sins of our young
Hati wears a bear skull on his head unless otherwise stated in the post. He also has a ram's skull that might be switched in sometimes if he finds it again.
