What does the future hold?

Dhiren was lost in thought one fine summer day. He had recently had a meeting with his mother, and aside from the quality time they got to have, he was given an important task. The job his mother had asked of him was a task he didn't know anything about and doubt was seeping into his mind. Would he be able to carry on if something happened to his mother? What would the pack do once they found out about his new duties? More questions tempted to plague his mind and he didn't want to let them in. As he fought with pushing the questions away, he could be found lying in front of his den. Front paws, long and lanky like Song's, stretched out in front of his frame with his head lazily propped against one upper calf. Silver and gold eyes appeared out of focus, and indeed they were, as his mind was still wrapping around his duties. No longer was he the jealous boy that craved his mother's attention from the unborn babies. Now that Cherokee was missing, he knew that he had to step up and become a man. It was too early in his opinion, but he had no choice. At that point, he silently wished that he had a distraction from the storm cloud that hung over his future's head.
