Uphill struggle, blood sweat and tears
Tyr's confidence - while not particularly strong - had steadied a bit since the earthquake, where he'd actually taken charge to get an injured female out of danger, and since meeting with Cormalin, who was training him to fight and treated him with far more decency than he deserved. He'd even taken it on himself to take a long walk and see if he could identify the herbs he vaguely knew from listening to the few healers from his childhood. He was disappointed to find that only the lavender was immediately recognizable to him in it's natural state this time of year, but he was glad enough to wander through the plains plucking up bits of it until he had a large, astringent-tasting but very pleasantly scented mouthful of stems. It hadn't even occurred to him that he'd put himself into a very dangerous situation, unable to depend on his nose since it was overwhelmed by the lavender and with only the faintest of hearing he had to depend entirely on his eyes to see danger.
Luckily there was no danger here this day, or at least no danger to himself. Still the sudden appearance of a wolf as Tyr pushed his way through the grass startled him, and he dropped the plants with a startled yelp and instinctive cringe. But mere moments later it registered what the wolf was doing - pawing at his head enough for there to be blood. Why, he didn't know, and he couldn't quite get anything out of the jumbled words the wolf was muttering either.
Orange-and-black patched pelt floofing in alarm, Tyr limped forward unthinkingly. "Hey now," he yipped softly, attempting to gently bat the other wolf's paw off his head. "Come on, don't do that. What's wrong?" It hadn't occurred to him quite yet that this wolf could be a danger to him, only that he was obviously in distress.

Nothing to gain, everything to fear
