Uphill struggle, blood sweat and tears
The gray-toned wolf's startled reaction scared Tyr as much as it did him, sending the calico-coated wolf cringing back in alarm before he could stop himself. Intellectually, he could see that this wolf was afraid, not aggressive, but deep-seated instincts were hard to convince of that. He took a deep breath, trying to settle his rapid heart, and the aroma of lavender still on clinging to his muzzle reminded him of the plants he had collected, and in the process reminded him of what he was trying to become - a healer - and the duties that came with it.
"Uhh, listen, why don't you try breathing the scent of these. They should help you calm down and relax so we can talk, ok? Maybe if you don't force it and you just relax, the memories will come back." The gray wolf's manner of speech was strange... maybe he didn't speak the common tongue natively? But it was enough for Tyr to understand, more or less, that the male was having trouble remembering his past... which to Tyr's mind sounded like paradise, but maybe there was something bad about keeping memories repressed like that. Something dangerous. He settled himself down cautiously, pulling the herbs toward the male, wondering how Erani would go about helping this wolf. "I'm Tyr. What's your name?"
"Speech"

"Speech"
Nothing to gain, everything to fear
