Time To Accept The Loss

Like her new best friend had thought, Silveris was not at the islands, because she had heard about the strange disease infecting a few wolves. She needed to see if Emery was okay. White paws carried her carefully to where she saw the black and white male. Shivers went up and down her body, but she kept moving, she had to keep moving. A soft whimper escaped her jaws, and her body shook as she coughed. She hadn't stopped moving, afraid she would freeze, but now, she stopped. Her chest heaved as she struggled for breath, her body frail. She knew she was sick, but she had to check on Emery.

Finally, the girl struggled into the den, snowflakes covering her like tiny white spiders. Silveris shivered, although she wasn't sure if it was from her sickness, or the thought of spiders. Mismatched eyes went around the den, until she saw him. A gasp escaped her jaws. Emery! Shivering again, Silveris struggled to talk, her voice raspy. "Emery......You're okay....." That was all she could manage. The brown and white tried to slide to the cave floor, but it was more of a fall. Silveris managed a soft whimper, and looked at the cream wolf, before wagging her tail weakly at Emery.

"I'm glad you're safe. Have you heard? There's a new disease. From what I've heard......" The brown girl thought of Loccian, in that minute, and rose to her paws, body shivering as she let out a loud yelp. "Mom.....I gotta go see if mother's okay......" With claws digging into the ground, Silveris struggled over to the entrance, then sighed and struggled back. Her sides heaved as she crawled over to Emery, wagging her tail at her friend.
